- Can write in bullet points
- Don't waste time stating author, title, GET INTO IT!
- Words are in bold - use them in that order in every paragraph you use - formulaic answers are great!

Successful Students;
- Think about the standard features/ audience / purpose of each text type? Poetic (fiction) prose, (non-fiction)
- Do EXACTLY what the question asks
- Use the WORDING of the QUESTION frequently
- Answer part A + B of all three Q's to Achieve 1.6 - especially if short on time
- Language Features - revise, use quizlet
- Be EXPLICIT about the WRITER'S PURPOSE - are they trying to persuade, inform, shock, entertain, provoke thought, emotion etc
- STYLE means PATTERNS within a text - look for features of language or SYNTAX. Look for the NARRATIVE VIEWPOINT.
- QUOTATIONS - You MUST use consistently - aim at least one, but hopefully 2 or more brief quotations in response to each part of the question.
- TITLES and ENDINGS - these often capture the main ideas a writer is trying to express.
