Self Directed Learning
Your first visual text study in Y9 was pretty much teacher-guided. You viewed a set film, discussed it in class and were given set activities to do.
This film study is more self-directed and provides you with choice about how you learn and what direction you take the study. You will study "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" directed by Ben Stiller.
Although there are aspects of this film study that are compulsory, this method of studying a text provides you with more choice regarding ways to demonstrate your thinking and understanding of the film.
Your ultimate assessment will be an essay in the end of year exam.

· Choose an aspect to focus on from the set provided. Yes, you may complete this study in groups.
· There are some compulsory learning objectives to complete to ensure you undergo well-rounded study. How you achieve these objectives,
however, is up to you and there are a variety of options provided
so that you are able to choose the one that you will most enjoy.
· Complete each compulsory learning objective. These are the learning objectives 1, 2, 3 and 5.
· Complete as many of the optional objectives as you like.
