Ex = give an e.g. (quote) that explains/ backs up your point
X = explain your point (what does LF do)
Y = You analyse - how that LF creates meaning for the reader

A: Identify 3 LF that you will focus on:
- Emotive Language - creates/ encourages an emotional response/ feeling from the reader
- Visual Imagery - creates strong pictures in the reader's mind to they can connect to the text better.
- Jargon - technical farm words are used to appeal to a specific audience, but also to give an authenticity and background to the character/ poem.

- explanation of each LF links back to meaning of poem (2 pts each = 6)
- Conclusion summarises LF and how they, as a whole create meaning (5)
- Structure as per essay - paragraphs, sentences flow, ideas clear, spelling mostly correct. (1 pt each = 4)
- Has answered the question, (somewhat 2, yes 4, definitely 6)
- Bonus pts for creative/ original thought (2)
