PR #2 - Six, Twelve, and Twenty Four Word Stories
- You will develop a story from six words to twelve words and then to twenty four words.
- The original “six word story” is developed with the use of adverbs and adjectives to add to the description, characterisation, and plot.
- Find a definition of underlined words and copy and paste into your notes.
- ICT Hint: In the google searchbar enter, define: adverb
Six word story, the life of a flower.
The flower grew, wilted, and died.
- How can you add six words to the story to develop the description?
- Words should be added throughout the six words and not simply added to the end of the story.
E.g.
The enormous purple flower grew slowly, wilting during the summer, and died.
- Discuss what types of words have been added.
- How do these words add to the enjoyment, description and understanding of the story?
Add a further twelve words to the story.
- At this point it is acceptable to break the story into two or more sentences. Words still must be added throughout the story and not only at the end.
E.g.
The enormous purple flower gorged itself on fuzzy caterpillars and grew slowly. Wilting during the beating heat of summer it drooped dejectedly and died.
1. Students begin their own six word story writing with their 4th memory.
2. Add to make 12 words.
3. Add to make 24 words.
4. Proof and present!
